The Botanical Garden - Take Two

No, you aren't seeing double. I already did a post of the images I took last year when I went to the botanical gardens. But I have visited again and have some new images to share! I love macro photography (as I believe I have mentioned before) and so here are some images from this summer's trip:

Hens and Chicks. Really like how this one came out.

I'm so bad with the names of flowers. I will call this one Big Purple Ball.

I do remember that this is a type of Peony. Really loved this flower.

I think this one is a Peony too?

Hydrangea hanging in the drying house.

Cute :)

Some sort of honey suckle.

Dragonfly

Watering cans.

One of my favorites from the day.

Hope you enjoyed these! Like I said before, all images are available as prints.
Next: I am shooting a wedding tomorrow down in the beautiful Wells, Maine! Stay tuned for those images!

Wedding: Chrissy and John

Hello all! Once again it has been a little while since I have put up a new post. Apart from a few computer issues, I have been working on some very exciting things that I can't wait to share with you! The most exciting of which is Chrissy and John's wedding that I shot on June 17th. It was a small, casual family affair at a stunning cottage on Bailey Island. I so enjoyed my time with them and even felt like I was part of the actual wedding party at times. The weather (after being unpredictable all day) turned out better than anyone could have hoped for for the ceremony and photos after. As I have been working on the images I keep catching myself with a smile on my face! I hope you (and Chrissy and John!) have the same reaction! Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the day:
(Just a quick side note: for some reason the photos look a little desaturated on the blog. Not sure why this is happening ): )

Sadie, the flower girl was happy to have a little photo shoot of her own while the B&G were getting ready. (She wanted to know if I was in 4th grade or 5th grade! Haha too cute.)

And of course I just couldn't resist a small panorama. The ceremony took place right down in the garden at the edge of the lawn. Such a beautiful place!

The rings.

Getting ready!

Family portrait

All smiles :)

With this ring...

MARRIED!

down by the seashore. (there is actually a sailboat off in the distance if you look closely.)

Rings.

Check out that blue sky!

Come on, I know you can't help but to smile...

So Happy!

What a stunning bride.

Toasting.

Carrot Cake cupcakes

Cutting the (cup)cake...

Smooshing the cupcakes!

Kiss.

It was such a wonderful day and I am so glad I could be part of it! Good luck Chrissy and John!

Orr's and Bailey Isls

This past weekend, a friend and I decided to take a short day trip to Orr's and Bailey Isls. I am shooting a wedding there in a couple of weeks and wanted to check out the area. What a beautiful place! We had a great time exploring and had our first lobster of the season. Here are some of the shots from the day!

A quick panorama of Macherel Cove.

Lobster Roll!

The Lobsterman statue at Land's End, next to all the lupins!

A great day! Stay tuned for the wedding images in a couple weeks!

Lauren & Dustin Engagement!

When I found out that a friend of mine from high school got engaged I had to do an engagement shoot for her. Lucky me they are both very attractive people and made my job so easy! We have been trying to find a time on a sunday to do the shoot but the weather hasn't been cooperating. Finally, this Memorial Day weekend we got some stunning weather. Lauren and Dustin chose the park next to SMCC. It is right on the water and has a wonderful view of Portand harbor. Here are some of my favorite images from this shoot:

Two Months in Prague

Last November and December I was fortunate enough to spend time in Prague, Czech Republic. I created an entire blog dedicated to my time there. To read about my adventures and to see many pictures of this beautiful city click here.

Dogs!

Back in November a friend of mine who is a dog walker in Yarmouth asked me to come along with her for a couple days and take pictures of the dogs she takes care of. She wanted to have a holiday card made for her clients. We had a good time visiting the dogs and snapping some very cute pictures. She also gave the owners a 4x6 framed photograph of their pup as a gift later. Here is the result!

A Wonderful Trip to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

This is another place to visit in the spring and summer. These gardens are absolutely stunning and quite large as well. It would be very easy to spend days exploring here. I came with my macro lens. I have always loved macro photography. It brings to light the tiniest details of our everyday world that we might usually miss. Here are some of my best images of the day. Enjoy!

Sunlight shining through a colorful leaf.

I love this little cactus. I believe it is called Hens and Chicks.

A busy little bee.

Rose.

This is perhaps the most successful image of the day. I almost fell into this very green little pond to get this picture but t was definitely worth it. This little guy wasn't shy at all!

Maybe this would be a good time to mention that any image you see on this blog is available for sale!
