Last November and December I was fortunate enough to spend time in Prague, Czech Republic. I created an entire blog dedicated to my time there. To read about my adventures and to see many pictures of this beautiful city click here.

Dogs!
Back in November a friend of mine who is a dog walker in Yarmouth asked me to come along with her for a couple days and take pictures of the dogs she takes care of. She wanted to have a holiday card made for her clients. We had a good time visiting the dogs and snapping some very cute pictures. She also gave the owners a 4x6 framed photograph of their pup as a gift later. Here is the result!

A Wonderful Trip to the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
This is another place to visit in the spring and summer. These gardens are absolutely stunning and quite large as well. It would be very easy to spend days exploring here. I came with my macro lens. I have always loved macro photography. It brings to light the tiniest details of our everyday world that we might usually miss. Here are some of my best images of the day. Enjoy!

Sunlight shining through a colorful leaf.

I love this little cactus. I believe it is called Hens and Chicks.

A busy little bee.
Rose.
This is perhaps the most successful image of the day. I almost fell into this very green little pond to get this picture but t was definitely worth it. This little guy wasn't shy at all!
Maybe this would be a good time to mention that any image you see on this blog is available for sale!
Monhegan Island in August
Last August, I stayed on Monhegan Island for the night on the way back from Bar Harbor by boat. It is really a beautiful place and I highly reccomend that everyone enjoy this island at least for a daytrip. In the summer there is a ferry that will take you to and from the island. Here are some of the photos that I took while visiting:
A pile of colorful fishing ropes.
Make sure that you hike up to the top of the island when you visit to see the lighthouse and large bell.
Panorama of the little cove.
A couple images of the famous sunset.

Royal River Waterfall
Last summer my sister (who is regularly bullied into modeling for me) agreed to come along with me to Royal River Park in Yarmouth. I had been dying to try out my new ND filter. Among other things, a neutral density filter allows the photographer to use a very slow shutterspeed without over exposing the image. That is how photographers capture the silky, flowing images of moving water. We found this spot and after a few tries I captured an image I was really happy with:

And then I asked Leah to jump in and hold very still. We both really liked the final result! Check it out:

Katie
Okay, bear with me because I am still playing catch up. This post takes me back to October last year. My good friend Katie was home in Maine for the weekend from college and agreed to a "senior portrait" photo session with me. She is beautiful and the camera really loves her! Take a look:

These are just a few of many great images we made!
