The Rockefeller Gardens in Late July

Back in July my family stayed up in Trenton for a week at my grandparent's camp just across the bridge from Mount Desert Island. While we were up there we did tons of walking and hiking and I did a lot of picture taking. My favorite group of photos from the trip, however are the images that I took on a private tour of the Rockefeller's private gardens. (I've got connections ;) .) It is an extraordinarily beautiful place that is reminiscent of the childrens' movie The Secret Garden. Here are the best shots from that day:

Fun fact: All the tiles on the roof of this wall were imported from China.

Yes, the pine needles are actually collected and lain out on these paths.

btw- finally got the image links to work: click the images to see them larger!

One of the frog ponds.

The most beautiful moss covers the majority of the forest floor throughout the gardens.

See? Secret Garden.

It's a buddha statue at the top:

So beautiful. Hope you enjoyed! Coming soon: Amber and Tommie's wedding photos!

Family Portrait Session: The Grahams

Hello! I have been wonderfully busy lately and just realized it is time for a new blog update! (And also, I just love the images from Maura and Aaron's wedding that I wanted to leave them up a while longer.) Not that I am not excited about this post! This is a family that I have been talking to for a while about a family portrait session and a few weeks ago the stars alligned and here are the results:

I chose to shoot at the Pineland campus for a couple reasons: 1- It is very conveniently located for both myself and the family. 2- it is gorgeously manicured down to the last blade of grass.

Mom and Dad.

The kids.

This is my favorite! (and was the last shot we took too!) Hope you enjoy :)

Finaly: Aaron and Maura's Wedding

I know, I know! It's been too long. I promised the wedding photos from Maura and Aaron's wedding a while ago - but at least I have a good excuse! For this wedding on July 9th, I had a second shooter (Chris Barrineau). Between the two of us we had almost 2000 images. He edited his portion very speedily, and I have been working on mine as well. I finished last week and have been waiting for them to arrive with Maura and Aaron. So today they arrived! And here is the blog post:

I arrived in Wells at 10am and headed over to the salon to catch some of the preparation shots:

After we left the salon, the girls all headed back to the beach house that was serving as home base. I grabbed the bridesmaids for a quick shoot:

Maura's BEAUTIFUL dress, waiting patiently.

Maura comparing dresses with the flower girl.

The wedding party rented a trolly to take them to their different locations throughout the day. Such a good idea! Maura getting ready to head off to the church.

The bridesmaids during the ceremony.

Maura and Aaron: MARRIED!

Leaving the church...

The bridal party made a quick stop for some fun photos on the way to the reception.

Maura and her sister, the maid of honor.

The guys.

When we got to the reception site, Chris and I took the wedding party and did some more fun photoshoots and then I grabbed Maura and Aaron and took some more photos. I love so many of the couple's photos, but here are a couple of my favorites:

I just couldn't resist using the texture of the grass and I'm so glad we did this one!

Toasting at the reception.

Isn't their cake so great? I love the toppers!

And of course, the ring shot.

Heading off to their honeymoon...

And of course, I had to do a panorama. I took this as I was on my way home that evening. It was such a wonderful and successful day.

The Botanical Garden - Take Two

No, you aren't seeing double. I already did a post of the images I took last year when I went to the botanical gardens. But I have visited again and have some new images to share! I love macro photography (as I believe I have mentioned before) and so here are some images from this summer's trip:

Hens and Chicks. Really like how this one came out.

I'm so bad with the names of flowers. I will call this one Big Purple Ball.

I do remember that this is a type of Peony. Really loved this flower.

I think this one is a Peony too?

Hydrangea hanging in the drying house.

Cute :)

Some sort of honey suckle.

Dragonfly

Watering cans.

One of my favorites from the day.

Hope you enjoyed these! Like I said before, all images are available as prints.
Next: I am shooting a wedding tomorrow down in the beautiful Wells, Maine! Stay tuned for those images!
